Tingsund is an artisan that engraves and cuts glass. With great precision
she copies actual pictures, but it is the motifs sprung from her own
fantasy that are her real passion. Maria Tingsund really loves clear glass with white surfaces where the motifs with their white surfaces give a delicate and pleasant form, bee it blown and sheet glass. She collaborates from time to time with different glassworks and glass smelt works, when she wants a form that is of her own design or work with colored glass like graal, ravenna and overlay. Maria never ceases to wonder about the magic of the glass. - Glass is a fantastic material, working with glass gives me the ultimate satisfaction, she says. When I work I am concentrated, calm and harmonious and I forget time and space. There are no limits for development and I like that. |
